Advocate with the League

The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization. We never support or oppose any political candidates or parties, but we do advocate on issues. We only act on issues that we have studied and on which our members have understanding and agreement. The League advocates at the national, state, and local levels

Our Positions

LWV Austin Area

LWV Austin Area uses League positions to advocate for change. We advocate with local government officials, engage with the community and collaborate with like-minded organizations to promote policies that make the Austin area a better place to live.
LWV Austin Area shares action alerts when local officials need to hear from you on issues important to the LWV.

LWV Texas

The League of Women Voters of Texas is responsible for advocacy at the Texas Legislature and among state agencies and organizations. LWV Texas shares action alerts when state officials need to hear from you on issues important to the LWV.

LWVAA Capitol Corp volunteers deliver testimony at the Texas Legislature during the legislative session on behalf of LWVTX.  Please see Volunteer Opportunities for more information.

The LWV Texas' Take Action! page makes it easy to contact Texas representatives, write letters to the editor, and keep up with bills.

LWV of the United States

The League of Women Voters of the United States (LWVUS) is responsible for advocacy at the national level.  There are many ways to have your voice heard by national elected officials and policy makers.  LWVUS, like local and state Leagues, shares action alerts when national officials need to hear from you on issues important to the League.
